  Bowden Golf Course is an 18-hole course that opened in 1940, making it the second oldest course in Macon. Bowden can provide a challenge for players of any ability, with four sets of tees on each hole, ranging in length from 4940 to 6626 yards. Bowden Golf Course provides a full service golf facility to the public at a very affordable rate, for individual play, group outings, or special events.

• Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course

  Designed by architect Denis Griffiths and listed on Golf Digest magazine’s list of four star-rated courses, Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course rests quietly on the shores of Lake Blackshear. Expertly placed mounds, water hazards, and plenty of sand bunkers define the holes and enhance the challenge. The Dwarf Bermuda greens are large and sloping and wide Tif 419 fairways wind through mounds and stands of tall loblolly pines. This golf experience is truly the best value in the south.

• Green Acres Golf and Recreation Club

  Green Acres is approximately 153 acres of beautiful tall Georgia pine trees. Live oak trees are also plentiful here in the Middle Georgia area. Our golf course offers a real challenge to the duffer as well as to the seasoned golfer. We offer rolling hills and undulating fairways. Tucked in and surrounded by these trees are 18 beautiful greens of all sizes and shapes guarded by bunkers which will offer a challenge to anyone. We have three beautiful ponds to enhance our club.

  Griffin Bell Golf Links is a short yardage links-style course with small greens and generous fairways. The course is affordable, easy to walk and well maintained. It is owned by Georgia Southwestern University, located adjacent to the GSW campus.

  The golf course boasts 5 sets of tees, which include the championship tees that measure 6745 in total yards and par at 72. But don’t let the length of the golf course fool you. Chances are, you will use just about every club in your bag during a round at Houston Lake! Narrow tee shots to manicured fairways lead to shots to big, undulating greens. It is a true test of club selection. The 18th hole at Houston Lake has won many awards as one of the top finishing holes in the state.

  Situated in the prestigious Statham's Landing neighborhood, The Landings Golf Club offers challenging golf for all skill levels, the fastest greens in Central Georgia, and a newly renovated club house - all open to the public. With five sets of tees, the course plays from 7000 to 4875 yards, with a comfortable 6284 from the whites. The TIF Eagle greens, rebuilt in 2005, have matured into the kind of "greens the pros" play with consistent 10 STIMP readings and quicker for tournaments. While the membership boasts a large contingent of "single-digit" golfers, you can always find a friendly group to join who match your handicap.

• Oak Haven Golf Club

  This course is relatively short, and very walker friendly. A great course for seniors. Plays from 5624 yards from the blue tees to 4593 from the red tees. Hole #18 is a unique par three finishing hole over water. A great value for less than $25.

• Oakview Golf Club

  Course plays long from the back tees. A diverse layout with some of Middle Georgia's best scenery. Driving accuracy is a premium as many fairways are narrow.

• Perry Country Club

  Perry Country Club features an 18 hole, 6465 yard, par-71 championship golf course cut from the pines of Middle Georgia. With our lush Bermuda grass fairways, new TifEagle Bermuda grass greens and 3 sets of tees, the course offers an enjoyable and challenging test of golf. With very little elevation change over the entire 18 holes, the course is very pleasurable to walk.

• Pine Needles Country Club

  Play began at Pine Needles Country Club in 1939, making it one of the oldest golf courses in the area.  The layout was designed by Syd Clark, who later went on to design courses for Perry and Montezuma.  A nine hole course with original Bermuda greens. Plays from 2503 yards to 3078 yards. This course provides a great value and is located just off Highway 49.

• Pine Oaks Golf Course

  RAFB, Ga.

  This par-71 course features four sets of tees to challenge golfers of all skill levels. A FY03 $1.3M greens upgrade features 45 percent larger greens with Tift Eagle Grass and new greenside bunkers and surrounds. This upgrade makes Pine Oaks Golf Course the most desirable golf course in the Middle Georgia area for hosting tournament play. The golfer will find this par 71 golf course very challenging due to the well placed bunkers, challenging greens, and narrow tree lined fairways.

• River Forest Golf Club

  Forsyth, Ga.

  The course at River Forest was designed to cleverly include natural elements such as granite formations deriving from the Stone Mountain rock system spreading through Georgia. In other areas strategic placements of rocks and lakes make for a very picturesque experience. The design has amazed golfers throughout the state and the country, and the perfect putting bentgrass greens along with lush fairways create a wonderful environment for a round of golf.

• Southern Hills Golf Club

  Our site is exceptionally well-suited to the game of golf because of its rolling terrain and elevation changes of up to 160 feet, very unusual for central Georgia. Our course offers a great mix of open land combined with fairways lined with oaks and pines; you’ll find water on nine holes.

  Offers four sets of tees. The blue course is set up as a links course. Open 365 days a year from daylight til dark. There is a campground close by with 37 site hookups. Campers will receive a free cart for use.  Twenty seven well maintained holes that offer a great value.

• Uchee Trail Country Club

  Well maintained golf course with four sets of tees ranging from 4959 to 6718 yards. Features two 600 yard par 5's. Easy to walk and "player friendly". There are no blind shots. This course provides a good value and is very affordable.

• Wallace Adams Golf Course

  McRae, Ga.

  Member rating:

  Wallace Adams Course has breathtaking surroundings and impeccable conditioning. With loblolly pines, magnolias and willows line the broad Tif 419 Bermuda fairways. The newer front side is a bit tight and demands shotmaking skills, while the older back nine is more open and presents its challenge via doglegs and smaller more sloped Tif Dwarf Bermuda greens. On-site lodge and restaurant make this a true golf destination.
